The brief

Produce a documentary that gives the women and girls involved the space to speak for themselves, rather than a film that speaks about them.

The challenge

Stories about empowerment often arrive pre-written, with the conclusion decided before the first interview. The work here was to keep the film honest: to let contributors set the terms of their own story, and to build a structure that carried their words without flattening them into a message.

Our approach

Interview-led, with contributors given time and a setting in which they were comfortable speaking. The edit follows their language and their emphasis. Where a scene added understanding it stayed; where it only added polish, it did not.

Production

Multi-camera interview capture with controlled lighting and dedicated sound, supported by observational filming and stills from the same production. Edit, grade and sound finished in-house.
