Turning a brand into visual content

10 August 2026

A brand is a set of decisions. Visual content is where those decisions become something people actually see.

A brand is a set of decisions: who it is for, how it speaks, what it refuses to do. Visual content is where those decisions stop being a document and become something people actually see.

The work starts with what the content has to do. Product photography that has to survive being cropped into a marketplace listing is a different job from a film that has to make someone stop scrolling, which is a different job again from images that have to hold a full-page print layout. Shooting all three the same way serves none of them.

Consistency comes next, and it is mostly restraint. One approach to light. A palette that stays put. Framing that behaves the same way across a set. Consistency is what makes a brand recognisable before the logo appears.

Then there is usefulness. A set of images that only works in one aspect ratio will be cropped badly by someone in a hurry. So we shoot for the formats the content will live in — vertical and horizontal, tight and wide, with and without space for type.

Good commercial content is not the most elaborate content. It is content the marketing team can actually use, for longer than a month.
